Mallacoota is a small township of the coast of Victoria, surrounded by Croajingalong National Park, it is a haven for everyone with attractions like our pristine wilderness coast line and our magnificent lake system that hosts an emormous varity of flora and fauna.

Mallacoota is situated halfway between Melbourne and Sydney and only a four hour drive from Canberra, making it an ideal destination for anyone travelling the East Coast of Australia. Mallacoota is 20 kms off the Princes Highway, the town has plenty of accommodation to choose from along with two supermarkets, chemist, newsagents, butcher, Post Office, hardware and many eateries.

Things to do in Mallacoota are abundent and catering for everyones needs such as boating, fishing, surfing, bush walking, camping, golf, bowls and relaxing at one of our many beautiful beaches that are suitable for all ages.

Activities and attractions

  • Take a cruise and explore Mallacoota Inlet with a local expert
  • Hire a boat from Bucklands Jetty Boat Hire and spend a day fishing for bream in the inlet or just exploring the lake.
  • Paddle a canoe up the Genoa or Wallagaraugh rivers to Gipsy Point
  • Explore an unspoilt coast from the popular and patrolled Betka Beach to the rugged Quarry Beach where snorkellers explore the rocks or the peaceful Secret Beach
  • Visit Gipsy Point, a beautiful peninsula jutting into the top lake of the Mallacoota Inlet and home to a large mob of kangaroos
  • Explore the diverse landscapes in the Croajingolong National Park, from pure white sandy beaches to granite peaks and heathland
  • Visit Gabo Island Lightstation Reserve. The island is home to a host of seabirds and one of the world's largest colonies of Little Penguins. Access is possible by boat or air and you can even stay overnight in the light housekeepers cottage.
